Due to a group cancellation Airtree resort has some room availability and the resort is ideal for a group or single party bookings.
There is HEAPS of room for boat parking and trailers, fire pit, outdoor bar and recreation room for gathering and talking who caught the biggest fish, along with a great pool area for a dip after a hot day in the boat. Self contained rooms, great bbq area and spacious lawns and grounds.
The Cod Classic celebrates the opening to Cod season and is an iconic event on the Australian fishing calendar, one not to be missed. December 6th, 7th & 8th will see the twin towns of Yarrawonga & Mulwala come alive with 3000+ fisho’s expected to descend on Lake Mulwala – “The home of the Murray Cod!”
An amazing prize pool that tallies in excess of $150K including 10 boating packages, that’s right 10 boating packages will be given away across the weekend. Other prizes include the chance to spend 30 seconds in a cash grab machine, a list of major goods to long to mention along with 1000+ minor lucky door prizes, the majority of competitors will be going home with a smile on their face. Amazingly, after the completion of this year’s event, a staggering total of 120 boating packages will have been given away through the Cod Classic.
Designed for the family with all levels of fishing skills catered for, everybody has a chance of winning one of the many great prizes on offer weather fishing from boat or bank, using either bait or lures. Majority of prizes are randomly drawn with you not having to catch a fish to be a winner! Those that are lucky enough to register either a legal-sized Murray Cod or 45cm+ Golden Perch go into additional draws to win extra great prizes.
Entry fee, Adults $95 pre-paid / $100 on weekend and juniors $50. This includes four meals, souvenir stubby holder, a free ticket in major boat raffle, Wilson Slickback lure & Bassman Spinnerbait (for the kids), entry into 1000’s of lucky door prize draws and the promise of a great weekend.
Being run in conjunction with the Cod Classic is the “Native Watercraft” Australian Canoe & Kayak Cod Fishing Championships. Entering its ninth year, this event caters for the new breed of fisherman who chose to fish from either a canoe and kayak choosing paddle and peddle over petrol and power.
The “Fishing & Outdoors” expo will be a main feature with the chance to grab a bargain not to be missed. Other popular parts of the competition include iconic entertainer “Flathead Fred” for the juniors; “Venom Rods Cod Talk” with Rod “Codmac” McKenzie and the Samurai Rods Australian Pro Casting Championships.
